Extended tour description
Washington D.C.’s Georgetown neighborhood is home to some of the city’s most notable residents, local commerce, embassies, and culinary gems. On this tour, you will eat your way through this well-known and prestigious neighborhood. We set off on foot walking a total of about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) with your foodie tour guide, at a comfortable pace. Once we take off, you will start to see some historical sites on your way to the first eatery. We may stand or sit, depending upon the stop, while indulging in a total of four to five tantalizing food samples and one wine or Spritz pairing. We start off the tour visiting the home of a world renowned emmy award winning chef and then take you to have a portion at an eatery that was featured on the History Channel. This ‘eat like a local’ food tour then educates you with unique tastings at a local International Spice and Olive Oil shop, reputable and savory Italian Market Cafe/Ceramic establishment, Tea Shop, and highly recognized military-focused American bakery. Specific establishments may vary. Between tastings, learn from your guide about Georgetown, its culture and architecture. Afterward, you’re free to explore more on your own as our tour guide offers fun suggestions!
